Thinking and writing

Here we publish essays, interviews, and reflections that add to the conversation around the creative corridor, digital movement, and the UK creative ecosystem. The tone is professional and direct—no filler, no generic thought leadership. If you’d like to contribute, get in touch.

Why corridors matter

The corridor isn’t just a metaphor—it’s a way of thinking about how ideas and people move. In this piece we explore why passage and connection matter for collaborative practice and how that shapes what we do at Chamise5ja.

We look at the difference between a corridor and a room: one invites movement, the other invites stay. Creative work often needs both. Our platform tries to hold that balance.

Northern creative geography

A short map of the creative landscape of the North—the cities, the spaces, the networks, and what we think is coming next. We don’t claim to cover everything; we aim to add perspective that’s grounded in place.

From Sheffield’s studios to Manchester’s galleries, Leeds’ independents to Liverpool’s biennial energy—the geography of the North shapes the corridor. We document and reflect on that.

About us · Community

Digital and physical space

How we design for both online and in-person connection without losing the human element. The pandemic pushed everyone online; the question now is how to keep the best of digital while reclaiming the value of being in a room together.

We share what we’ve learned from running hybrid events, digital residencies, and community editions—and what we’re still figuring out.
